iPhone 14 Release Date
The size of the iPhone changed this year, and Apple omitted the 5.4-inch
iPhone mini because it turned out to be unpopular with customers. Based
on weak iPhone mini sales, Apple itself plans to focus on larger iPhone
sizes for its flagship devices this year, and we expect to see 6.1-inch
iPhone 14, 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro, 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max. inch. , and
the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max. Note that there will be no 5.4-inch
iPhone 14 mini this year.
From the beginning iPhone with Face ID
had a tactic on the front to house all the tools needed for facial
scanning, but that will change with the launch of the latest iPhone 14.
The iPhone 14 Pro 2022 model is expected to ditch the notch in favor of
the new design. It's been rumored to be everywhere for a while, but it
looks like Apple will use some combination of circular punch-hole
cutouts for the camera paired with pill-shaped cutouts to house key Face
ID components. Unfortunately, this feature will be limited to the Pro
model, and the more affordable iPhone 14 models will continue to feature
the standard notch.

Many customers didn't expect a significant
design change this year, but did expect the camera bump for the iPhone
14 and iPhone 14 Pro to be thicker, with the Pro bulge growing in size
more prominently. Apple is expected to introduce a new color option,
perhaps adding purple.
iPhone 14 Pro models may feature a
titanium frame instead of a stainless steel frame, and redesigned
speaker and microphone grilles are possible. Apple could also use a new
vapor chamber thermal system that will keep iPhone cool to minimize the
impact of faster chips and 5G connectivity.
New iPhone always
include camera upgrades, and the iPhone 14 is no exception. There will
be upgrades to the Ultra Wide camera, and it's possible that Apple will
introduce a "periscope" zoom lens that allows for much greater optical
zoom, but it's still unclear whether this will come in 2022 or 2023.
iPhone Pro models are expected to get a 48-megapixel camera and 8K video
recording capabilities, but this feature won't be available on the
standard iPhone 14 model.
Rumors suggest that the iPhone 14 model
will likely continue to use the same A15 chip introduced in the iPhone
13 series, while the iPhone 14 Pro model will receive the updated A16
chip. This will mark the first time an iPhone Pro model has gotten a
faster chip, with Apple possibly going this route to reduce costs and
also due to ongoing supply issues.
